The moaning of Alonso and Vettel was ridiculous at one point. They should have tell them on the radio just to shut up and put their foot down god damn it, they're racing drivers.
Its political. Teams will,do anything to gain a position. I'm sure the pit wall encourage it.

Past evidence suggests that Alonso would be very very closely matched with Hamilton.

Rosberg had issues, but they were issues that were the same as Hamilton's, and were only manageable because of the warning that Hamilton's failing earlier gave. Hamilton's car has failed resulting in dropping out of the race twice now, Rosberg's has failed with that result only once. To call Hamilton lucky based on that is ridiculous.[/quote]

With Rosberg's Silverstone issues, both guys had 2 mechanical failures, neither has been lucky.
Maybe except for the fact that Nico's pitstops (bar Canada) are always better... this is really weird.

I hope Mercedes figures this out otherwise the championship will be decided on reliability, a win over your teammate means 7 points a DNF means -25.

I'd suggest that Rosberg has been (slightly) lucky at this point. He's had one race ending failure and one manageable one, while Hamilton has had two race ending failures.

Ideally, I'd like to see a race where Rosberg DNFs, Hamilton looks like winning, but has a manageable failure that allows him to finish second. Then it'd be equal on points lost from failure, and we'd have a real championship on our hands.

Epic race by Alonso, respect. Ferrari screwed qualy, he got a penalty (deserved) and yet he finished 6th fighting like a gladiator in a slower car.

I think Vettel was a matching rival to him, both of them in cars with various deficiencies.

P.S. Bar the whining over the radio from both but they all do it nowadays. :)

He was complaining that Vettel went wide at the last corner. The result was that he was in the slip stream down the start/finish straight, and through village. The result of that was that he was up Alonso's gearbox in Loop. Finally, he got past in the DRS because of that.

Basically, Alonso is saying that Vettel gained lasting advantage by going off the track.

Of note, Vettel also went off the track at Copse immediately after finishing the move.

I think Ferrari may have a fairly strong argument if they visit the stewards that Vettel only got past because he went off the track twice.
not twice, three times. First at the last corner, second and crucial after turn 5, and third after copse. nevertheless epic battle =D>

I'm a hamilton fan. But looking at the picture painted thus far, the shock from a super fast rookie, coupled with mclaren being a homeground for the "new boy", served to unnerve Alonso. Hamilton's stock is well known now and so there'll be pressure on both. But if hamilton is having problems with the rosbergs and buttons, I doubt he'll be able to deal with the all around threat alonso is...he uses every tool...be they psychological, political, technical........everything and he's consistently fast...note...consistently

I like Hamilton on track but when he speaks, he is just so of himself that I can't stand him.

Why?
Because of this epic fight between the two?
I have seen two great Drivers fighting it out all the way but still leaving the other enough room to avoid having carbon fibres all over the track.

Vettel simply chose the wrong strategy again and was on top of that held up by Alonso. Just watch how much he gained once he passed him.

Vettel had newer tyres, there was nothing equal about the fight, and Alonso had issues with the rear wing, the team told him to go slower in the fast corners, they even talked about retirement.
