Would you bitch and moan about fuel saving during the race and lack of practice running due to the fuel allocation?bidong wrote:I would like to see a 2.0L V8 engine with compounding turbochargers and VGT systems installed. The MGU-K and MGU-H will be the same although the battery could be bigger. It would be great if they could bring back the push button KERS boost. RPM to be limited to 22,000 rpm. No rpm limit for 8th gear when 1 second behind a formula one (was thinking DRS detection style) HP should be in the 1200-1350 region. REMOVAL OF DRS.
Race fuel should be limited to 150 kg without a fuel flow limit. Allotted fuel per car would be around 200 kg the whole weekend.
Why would they run miles off the qualifying pace? I know they don't put alot of fuel for qualifying. They just put what is necessary to make their planned out - fly - in program.wuzak wrote:Would you bitch and moan about fuel saving during the race and lack of practice running due to the fuel allocation?bidong wrote:I would like to see a 2.0L V8 engine with compounding turbochargers and VGT systems installed. They would run miles off qualifying pace (more than now) if these were the rules.
Just to reiterate, the fuel flow limit puts a cap on power - a cap that is easily adjusted. The race fuel allowance promotes fuel saving mode, though ithas to be said that for most of 2014 there was no more fuel saving than in the V8 era, where teams deliberately short-filled and fans complained very little about it.

Would make it more interesting that way.
Why do you want a 2L V8 with a turbo charger? It is going to sound the same as it is now.bidong wrote:Why would they run miles off the qualifying pace? I also mentioned that fuel flow won't be controlled but total fuel quantity for a race weekend.
I might bitch for the lack of practice but that can easily be adjusted by increasing total fuel quantity for the weekend. I would like to fix the total amount of fuel for the RACE. power extraction and weight saving would play a fine game.

That or make fuel delivery gravity feed only.

Hmmm....how are you going to enforce a maximum 1000hp?Andres125sx wrote:Engine rules:
- Max 1000hp
- Max 30 Million per engine
- Max 100kg fuel per race, this limit will go down season by season to encourage ERS development
That´s it, no need for more restrictions, let the teams decide what´s the best posible config. Engineers battles are exciting, at least we´d see some battle in F1
You simply measure the torque and rpm at the driveshafts with standardised sensors, as it's done in WEC for the balance of performance.wuzak wrote:Hmmm....how are you going to enforce a maximum 1000hp?
