Scuderia Ferrari SF15-T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Its a shot of the Sauber, but the first view of the 2015 Ferrari PU. Exhaust is not 'log style', but does not wrap over the cylinder head like last year.

Here is a comparison from @techF1LES. The intercooler appears to be in the same location inside the V.

looks like the 2015 PU has a lot of mass packaged lower in the car... can only be better

Don't know about you guys, but I'm loving the shape of the sidepods much better than last year. The car actually looks sleek now. The shape of the F14-T's sidepods reminded me of a toad more than anything else...

Do you think Ferrari, mcLaren and Toro Rosso will change their noses ? It's the 2nd session of practices and they don't have change them so I think it's the final noses. What do you think ?

Mercedes changed their nose twice during the season last year, and Toro Rosso introduced a new nose in Japan. It could be that the teams will go through the tests with these noses and introduced a shorter nose during the season once they pass the crash test. We've heard rumours that Ferrari and Toro Rosso are both actually planning to do so

I think it could be. I've been trying to find an image of the Ferrari PU without the engine cover. He did mention it was above the gearbox, which made me think it would be under the exhaust but I guess this is technically still above the gearbox.

But at point where rules allow that. There is set minimum CofG height.

James Allison: “Overall we are content with the day, happy because the work we’ve been doing in learning how the car responds to set-up changes was very satisfactory, less happy with the laps count for the day. I hope that in the remaining days we get some more mileage under our belt”
Setup response finally OK then. That's good news, one problem solved.
