That's a lot of people to be focusing on the engine, isn't this team as big as Mercedes? Either they've downsized to a force India/Williams headcount or the chassis department have been sat on deck chairs on a beach somewhere.
The # 1 driver made mistakes in qualifying and the world is now over sheesh
Lets just ignore the fact that mistakes are often made when the car is not very competitive. If it was a simple mistake and the car has bags of potential than I take it you're expecting Vettel to breeze past both Redbulls tomorrow right?

racer.com wrote:Pirelli has issued Formula 1 teams with recommended maximum stint lengths for each of its tires compounds for the first time at this weekend's British Grand Prix.

The tire supplier stressed to teams that they should still base their race strategies around their own wear data, rather than taking the number of laps given by Pirelli as a guarantee of tire life. Pirelli has suggested nobody should exceed 26 laps on the hard tire, 28 laps on the medium, and 15 laps on the soft compound in Sunday's race at Silverstone.

It explained that the medium is predicted to last longer than the hard because the harder compound has experienced some graining this weekend.

"Our advice is not to exceed these numbers during the race," the company added.

Its pre-race prediction for the best strategy is a two-stopper, featuring two 12-lap stints on the soft tires and a 28-lap stint on the medium.

In last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel suffered a spectacular tire failure while stretching the life of his first set of tires, which had completed 29 laps of the Red Bull Ring including mileage from qualifying.
Because Pirelli.

Palmer already did 34 laps stint on medium and Hamilton 23 on soft.

Hard compound lasting less than medium one...

Vettel's time would have been 1.30.3 /1.30.4 without the mistake at the end of the first flying lap. His final sector was 25.8 compared to his previous best of 24.785.

Ferrari is usually a bit more competitive in the race compared to quali, so they should be able to fight the RBRs tomorrow. Of course Vettel has to clear a bunch of cars first and Silverstone is not the easiest place to do so....

This track exposes their deficiency on the aero/chassis side, they have work to do.

Pirelli "We are not exactly sure what kind of tyres we just made so after a long game of Rock Paper Scissors to decide the compounds we still have no idea"

Going to be a little colder tomorrow than today, probably won't rain but you can never be sure.

- Yes recommended max stint length is higher for mediums (28) than hard t. (26). Softs (15).
- It's almost still two but softer compounds (without whining about deg), you Q and start (heavy) on softest and if it's two stints another softer. Graining, priorities and stints (speed), cars can't work perfectly with contrasting elements so one is out. US changed it a bit: racing and Q tyres. Sometimes different tyres for Q and 1st stint (China, Austria) which is good.
- they predict two stops

I can't understand, how the GP2 regulations allow cars to have a clean nose designs, whereas the F1 cars have thisthumbs . As I understand, the nose heights were reduced to avoid T-boning of cars. Don't GP2 have the same issues?

Quite simple. GP2 is one manufacturer. Big chance if you let 11 companies design cars there, you'll get the most weird and possible dangerous noses. In GP2 behind the nosecone there is probably a very large impact structure that is not the most efficient in weight and aero.

Plus, Mercedes had a pretty decent looking front the last couple of years, so it is possible

Ericsson good to race, starting from the pitlane.
Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson will compete in the 2016 Formula 1 British Grand Prix after being given the all-clear by the FIA medical team.

Damage to his car was serious enough that Sauber have requested that a fresh chassis be re-scrutineered for the race, meaning that Ericsson will start the 52-lap Grand Prix from the pit lane. The team have also replaced his gearbox.
