You didn't read the FIA statement, it says that since Vettel has used a spare gearbox in Silverstone in Hungary he has the right to use a new gearbox with no penalties.
I did actually, I just missed the significance of the spare 'box used after last race.

Just watched P1 and P2 rather quickly but i´m just curious on the re-surface and what corners it affected mostly.
Turn 5? the fast line around there was always the wide one it seemed but maybe it was because of the bumps. Anywhere else?

6 & 7 got new exit kerbs, before they'd destroy your suspension and car.

McLaren 1 sec off Redbull time in sector 2. Does this put an end to their super chassis theory? Just asking

It's practice, it could be down to many things. I love how people are eager to down play the chassis at every opportunity. But this car is getting faster, ofcourse the chassis is probably behind Merc and redbull but without the same power the chassis will always be more compromised. Once we are on similar power than we can see who comes out top.

Sector two is just after turn 3, and ends at the exit turn 11, that's all downforce, and grip, Red Bull was fastest in that sector even faster than Mercedes.

Nothing you said contradicts what I said. But what I do find irritating is that people keep claiming McLaren said stuff like we have a "super chassis" when clearly they didn't and no McLaren fan thinks it's chassis is better than redbull or Mercedes so what people are doing building strawmen to knock them down again I don't know

Turn 5 is a "drive everywhere" corner? I can not see the marked electronic enforcement and no real curb on the exit...

I don't get why they don't just teflon coat the curbs and be done with it. Track limits problem solved overnight.

Lewis seems to be struggling with the car this season when Merc open up the cooling. Seems somewhat like what happened in Baku. Fast on Friday, but struggled immensely on Saturday. Hope it clears up for him.

Their chassis is Force India/Williams class but they keep claiming it's awesome, of course people will take offense.
