Wasn't that Safety car conditions???
no, if i remember correctly, that was for Mark weber's crash in that corner with a double yellow...
Then Alonso came in too fast and crashed, and then we had the SC and in half a lap it was turned to Red flag

Edit: Sorry i was wrong, it was indeed a SC announcement at the time

It not being investigated immediately was a farce.

I guess the Farce is that it took them 3 hours to say "oh yes, there was an infridgement of the rules. We didn't see that."

Yes, true.... but maybe they closed their eyes for this and alot of people including Lewis saying they will do the same in future MAY have triggered them to investigate it. hence the delay

You are asking the wrong question. The "why of the yellow" is not the problem, the ignoring of a safety warning regarding potential danger ahead by the driver is a problem.

So the question should be, why did Rosberg feel the yellow flags do not apply to him?

The only thing one should be upset about is the fact that it took them that long to start an investigation.

How is lifting and losing just 0.1s in one corner and then ignoring the rest of the double yellow "slowing down significantly" ?

Simple answer: it isn't.

He did what you're supposed to do under single yellow, not double yellow.

Do not make too much of it. The race is tomorrow. No need to judge it in 15min.

I am curious, if they told him about the flag, like "car standing on the outside of turn 9"...and maybe even "track clear" when the car was away?

These are the sector times from Nico's 3 hot laps in Q3.

Nico:
28.308
29.529
22.662

28.387
28.971
22.843

28.377
28.759
22.829

The track was now longer improving. his sector one & two times make this clear.

He didn't encounter the yellows until have way through sector 2, so I find it damn hard to believe that he lifted a reasonable amount, and then gained the time he lost back plus an additional .212 in the last 2 turns of the sector. If he was that blisteringly fast, it would have shown in his other sector times.
