I'm seeing 60% chance during race time. I kind of knew this was going to happen, it's impossible for a week's worth of clear sky at Spa, something has to give.
Don't get your hopes on it. There is a chance, but only a small chance. It's not that predictable over here. It will rain in some places, maybe with some thunder, but it might as well stay dry all day. Maybe it rains next to the circuit and the circuit stays dry, or vice versa:

Why should Hamilton waste engine life during qualification? Will he not start last anyway?

I'm pretty sure he will just do the one mandatory 'quick' lap in Q1 then call it a day.

His car will be a full race setup and there is no advantage in him doing qual laps at all.

What will be interesting, is I wonder how much more powe the new spec engine has in Lewis and Nicos car.

Also, I wonder if Lewis will have the different high speed rear wing on in qual. Pretty sure it's locked in after qual, so we will get to see his race wing.

Hamilton has a new ICE, Turbo, MGUH, and MGUK for today's FP3 so 55 grid place penalty overall. He now has three "new" engines for the last nine races compared to Rosberg's Two engine without penalty. Mercedes has 6 tokens left to spend

This is how the sport has always been, if you don't like it find something else to watch.
I won't keep going but come on...don't sell yourself or the sport so short. Dumbing it down to that kinda conclusion shows how apathetic and cheaply bought many have become with this sport.

Car are slow AF on this track compared to last year. Take away SS tires and we're nowhere in terms of pace.

I'm sure it's down to those high tire pressures. It's ridiculous.

yeah, but a handful of laps won't hurt, and there's no need to safe those useless supersofts anyway. I think he will go for the pole if he is allowed to - just to show Rosberg that he can beat him easily under whatever circumstances

That attitude is egotistical only, not strategic. The strategially optimal move now is to qualify outside the top 10 and take choice of tyres.

Sad but true, no driver ever won a world title without a quick car.

I believe the Channel 4 commentator (James Allen ??) said the cars experienced a compression followed by a lift (significant to oil system)
he said this lift was minus 3g

I wonder what he even thought he meant by this
maybe that the car was driven so that lateral acceleration suddenly fell from around 4g to around 1g

Tommy, I didn't hear the broadcast but was he referring to going over the crest at Eau Rouge?
