A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
Seems like they also went for the maximum size allowed like Renault on the front wing mounting point.
Rest of the car look really aggressive already in term of aero, really curious to see developement under these new aero rules at the end of the year.
Really interesting inlet work going on inside the side-pod, quite a few dedicated openings there, the weird cut from the top is probably there to feed more air into that squarish opening.
Funny how car after car this week we have new development coming, shows how much these rules a reopening some possibilities.
Its not exactly the same I know, but the concept is the same.
Globally yes, but it's interesting to see where they take air from.
I wonder with the amount of attention they pay to air flowing around sidepods, wouldn't it be better for them to have a narrower "merc-style" nosecone.
This car is the most advanced aero car till now, very fluide curves around the car, not winged ad nauseam as mercedes , the SF70h look fast i hope it is, clap to Ferrari they made a great car !

Interesting question , maybe coul be a great solution to increase cooling...i think is as you said
i rather think they are meant to direct air into a 'tunnel' that will feed air into the floor, rear wing, and monkey seat. i dont think it'll actualy guide air into the 'parts' that need cooling ('guts'). will need a decent rear shot. but that's what i'm feeling.
i want to see a good side and rear shot from the area around the rear wheel and the floor there. im confident there is much to see there of interest. wouldn't be surprised if in testing and australia, we'll see a different 'cover' which will show an opening similar to mercedes opening, to feed more air to the floor.
Also a tunnel to direct air to rear makes sense. Pretty difficult to realize but very intersting.
We can't see the rear at the moment, and we can't find the probably " output hole" Ferrari is quite cagey to hide diffuser.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.
