It's hard to tell much right now, as FOM seems to only broadcast interesting communications between Kimi and the team. I've heard almost nothing between Vettel and the team so far this year.
That reminds me. Hopefully we get some damn on-screen timing information for this race. It has been fairly pathetic so far in 2017.
Still seems rubbish - aside from lack of timing (not to mention micro-loops) I hate the way a time is set and the tyre next to it is wrong for a few moments before it updates :/

First world problems, I guess, but seems a bit amateur.

And then the timing cuts out midway through Kimi's hot lap...

In FP2 Bottas went 32 laps on US tyres and on the 31th lap he did a time of 1:38,007 sec. ...

Is it me or Ferrari and Merc split their simulations with Vettel and Bottas running on lighter cars and Kimi & Lewis on heavier ones
And the same strategy for swapping the tyre in the middle of the simulation run, except Bottas ...

Yes! The whole track looks so vanilla on TV but seeing this makes me realise it could look really spectacular from certain angles.

Ferrari onto their 3rd turbos, so penalties are looking more and more likely later this season.

Apparently the tyre shown is the one they did their best lap with not necessary the one they are currently on... Sky F1 UK reported something within those lines if I understood correctly. Doesn't make sense at all if you ask me...

No but you'll see - and was the case in previous two races too - that a car is running, say, the SS (it's obvious from the pictures themselves), will set a new best time, but the tyre listed next to the time will still be S. It'll change to SS after a few seconds but it's pretty poor if you ask me.

They are screwing us over intentionally so we buy the app. The tire changing seconds late is not so much part of it I hope but all the live timing missing certainly so.

Not necessarily. It could be that Ferrari choose to rotate their TC's after a stipulated number of hours use, then get them inspected for fatigue, etc. After this they are put back into the pool to be used again. This approach would help limit unexpected failures or indeed highlight any design or production failings.

What happens when they introduce a newer version of Turbo (let's say the 4th turbo) as part of an upgrade package to their overall PU?
What happens to these 3 turbos that go to pool (as you say), if they are not going to be compatible with the upgraded PU package?
Starting this year, there is no token restrictions and the manufacturers can redesign whatever they want.

So, by definition, Ferrari could take a TC or 2 or 3 out of the "pool", redesign or modify them, then put them back into the "pool" again. Aren't teams only penalised if they scrap components due to failure?
