Are the two Ferrari drivers using different configuration or are they using the same?
Visually the same in FP2, in FP1 Vettel had the old bits.

Car looks very stiff in S3, neither driver had a good lap.

On the Merc side of things, Bottas is now using the flat RW after using the spoon in FP1.

Past few years FP2 - Q3 laptime improvement was around 2s, thus I predict a high 18 and no faster.

And Red Bull is right on Ferrari's tail! Ferrari must be running with heavy fuel, or it's Merc time again #-o

Did anyone hear/read what actually happened to Vettel in FP1?

It was originally reported as a transmission problem but then later it was reported as that Ferrari said it wasn't.

Yea and Renault is on RBs tail...and Ferrari suddenly looks terrible on track while 2 weeks ago it was absolutely planted.

I think you people need to take it easy for a bit. Temps are high, track has little grip, tire pressure is huge, setup is not optimal etc. It will look good come tomorrow, they looked horrid in Australia FP1 and FP2 and we know how that ended.

The last 2 races Ferrari has looked the best package throughout the early weekend with results that have been matched perfectly by Mercedes who on a race day have found 'something'. Now it's Mercedes who look to have the best package. If Mercedes manage to improve in the same manner then it's game over.

It does seem Mercedes is once again winning the development battle. We'll see tomorrow.

Ferrari is yet to bring a PU update so we will see. Commentators were saying that Ferrari was faster on the long runs so I think there still hope to see a tight battle.

Even if Merc AMG has a legit pace advantage this weekend we've seen how their strategy during the race can go south after the first round of stops.. Hamilton seems to get the short end of that stick these days.

An entire PU? I read it was just an upgraded ICE.

No they weren't. Mercedes were faster all ways up.

The info I saw was on race sim.

Hamilton's race pace makes him seem untouchable. It's still close between Mercedes and Ferrari, but this seems like the Hamilton we're used to. Red Bull is still off but not as much, the mid field seems to have caught up with Williams, and McLaren is still terribly off the pace.
