Probably it's a stupid question but, why is it good if the engine cover and the engine is smaller? To save weight? Or is it good because of the aero, it means bigger shark fin? The car weight is still limited by the rules. What's most striking is how much the engine cover has been reduced compared to SF71H.
It's not a stupid question at all! In fact people tend to refer to the 'packaging' of the rear end. This addresses how tightly can the team put all the cooling and mechanical components inside engine cover. The benefit of having a tighter rear end can be simply put to, less volume due to internals=more volume of air flowing to the rear=more potential downforce to be gained from the diffuser as you just have a shear larger volume of air to work with.
