What are those massive bulbs on the sides of the rear wing uprights?

You mean on the endplates? That's testing equipment, probably collecting data and measuring flow.

Temporary sensor and data logger housings to house testing apparatus - will be gone after testing

I was pretty sure that it was for testing, but it's not readily apparent what types of readings its taking.

Could be wind velocity/pressure and temperature gradients over the wide band containing diffuser, exhaust, rear wheels and rear wing. Maybe some sort of laser system. I'm just guessing.

Qualcomm wi-fi transmitters for all the extra data they're collecting.

Looks like flow-viz on the front wing. Love these overhead shots.

Indeed so. Look at how the airflow on top of the first element is flowing outwards towards the endplate.

Very interesting actually. Need to look at other angles to understand what forces the air flow that way. Looks unnatural from this angle.

Good spot! Noticed that as well. Looks like with the inward curve of the end plate, Merc is getting a stronger, jet nozzle sprayer effect going, pushing the air out and across the front tires.
