I dunno, despite the supposed "obviousness" of the Hughes article, after qualifying in Hungary, no one here speculated that Merc's slight qualifying downturn was a product of setup choices. Most were wondering if the Hockenheim upgrade failed, despite Merc's race pace continuing to surge. 8) The fact that Red Bull has improved was acknowledged by everyone, and I would agree that fact is quite obvious.

Did they favour race pace in Monza too? I mean, they weren't far off pole on a track that on paper, was a clear Ferrari favourite and still had better race pace. Also, I believe their engines were still turned down after the Spa issues... unless that didn't apply to Q3..

And night is dark. It baffles me that, these guys have spent an age in paddock and are supposed to br technical experts. What you get from these guys is elementary school rhymes without it sounding as such.
Mark Hughes does get to talk to people in the teams, i think sometimes it's just that he writes pretty clearly and makes it sound simple and 'obvious', when if it was the engineers trying to explain the same thing it it'd sound obscure and awesome

And if they were, this PU is a monster again.

Why would they run Phase 2 engines? Cause not a HP dependent track and so save mileage on Phase 3 engine?

AMuS said it's the spec 2 engine but I would take reports like that always with a grain of salt.

Yes. They ran Spec 2 PUs last year.

Different heave element tried in Singapore. Belleville washers instead of fully hydraulic(?).
Rumored to be further tested in Sochi.
