Just noticed that Hamilton is the only driver to have scored points in every race this year. If he can get a point in the final race, that will be a full season of points. Even though modern F1 cars are massively more reliable than back in the day, that's still a notable feat. Well done Mercedes/Hamilton. =D>

Vettel on Leclerc reminds me of Perez in Singapore, sudden move to the left for no real reason except bullying.

I don't see why Leclerc has to move over at all if he's alongside. IMO collision is at least 70/30.
He doesn’t.

It happens every race that someone on a straight tries to squeeze the other guy into a less favorable braking position. And usually the others comply, but technically you could keep steering straight and have the other guy crash into you as Leclerc did.

The question is is it a smart thing to do. Seeing the overall result for him and ferrari I think not.

It's the Vettel of old! Steering into cars (Button at Spa, Webber at Turkey) on straights. Then blaming them!
Thinking the same, classic Vettel cutting inside. Spa Eau Source and Singapore start 2017...
He crashed into Karthekeyan and tried to blame it on him as well.

Max is the man of the day and deserved so.
I'd go with Sainz, to be honest. Last place to third is much more impressive than starting on pole and winning, especially if the former is in a midfield car, the latter in a top car.
Yeah, no. He overtook Lewis twice. And Leclerc in order to even have that chance after the Williams double whammy inlap hold up & pit up trick. I think the merc was still the slightly faster car (in the hands of Lewis, on pace) but at this altitude and with less wing Max could jump him on the straights.

A very Fair fight between the two of them. Hopefully RBR can improve the package a little bit and then next season we might finally see the real battle between these 2.

Definitely especially doing 42 laps on medium tyres and holding off faster cars on younger softs after the SC period =D>

What is stopping them from delaying the podium for a few minutes if one of the top3 is facing a potential penalty? How much time did pass between the ceremony and the decision?

Before the SC Lewis was about to get DRS on Max with around 17 laps to go, who knows what would've happened without the SC. VSC would've sufficed, it just brought Ferrari into the mix and gave Red Bull an obvious decision by boxing for fresh softs, race over.
That's why I think Mercedes should have boxed Hamilton earlier for his 2nd stop and put on the hards, Red Bulls only option would have been to have a longer stint on the mediums.
The hards were rubbish. look how quickly bottas got rid of them. 11 laps or so.

They can't delay the podium. It has to take place at a precise scheduled time after every race. I can't remember exactly why, (I was told on a tour of Silverstone) but I believe it's due to global news providers/feeds knowing the precise moment and picking it up live.

Edit- but I agree it's really poor and a huge shame Sainz didn't get to stand up there.

Mercedes Formula 1 team technical director James Allison has called the decision to give Lewis Hamilton the opportunity to pit under the final safety car in Brazilian “dumb” and a “rookie error.”

Vowles is incompetent, the strategy team has been the weakest part of Merc for some time, the have cost Merc at least 10 wins since 2014. Vowles needs to go.

Or Mercedes has a relatively draggier car at altitude.. Or their engines are turned down due to the mileage. There are so many variables that can explain why the Honda powered cars seemed quick today. But its definitely up there in the mix now that's for sure.
The RedBulls have used 5 ICEs and TR have used 7 ICEs this season compared to Mercedes 3 so the Merc lumps are probably a bit tired now, and that won't have helped today at all.
Not just the lumps, but the batteries too.

I didn't get the "pit opposite to max" at the first SC. You either have a racy RedBull on fresh soft rubber behind you but have track postion for one corner (what happend) or you stay in second with equal rubber when you both pit.

It ain't monaco.

Second SC was more a all of nothing for me.

Hamilton was too greedy today. He robbed Albon of a well deserved maiden podium. Apology shouldn't be enough. Donate one your cars to him.

Hamilton wanted the win. he has the title already, only a win is good enough. He had to pass albon asap to have a chance of attacking max. Win or bust. Kinda like Max's style.

That's always where the errors come from. Max has been fighting these guys with up to know inferior material, so pushing at least at 110%.
But now the tables are turning, or at least equalizing, everybody needs to do more racing, and in racing more errors are made .. at least more then when one's driving way up front with clean air and a 12sec buffer.
Most of the guys in the current pack are prone to the same errors when they need to race for it ..
HuggaWugga !
