Red Bull RB16

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Also depends on how realistic the threat/chance of rain is for Sunday.

And it might have to do if they expect to qualy in front or behind Merc 2.

There's a small chance it rains towards the end of the race.

RB is bringing a new front wing development for Monza, if it pans out, there's a tasty package that will be ready for Mugello time permitting. Hopefully they can keep chipping away.

Exactly, that is what I hope to see, maybe a nice chip due to the regulation change and then keep working on the remaining deficit. At least for next year.

I had already feared 2021 was a lost cause too but it seems inways are being made this year still.

From this angle seems more low DF than the other pics posted here. Also Merc is running a similar setup

main plane looks to be the same as Spa spec, in depth and profile, with a low AOA on the flap and the top edge trimmed off

Agreed, much lower DF than I first thought.

Still no pics of the part I want to see the most. No FW?

Yes, certainly. But it is not yet the all flat wing they also have. I wonder if we will see it on Friday.
My money is on the fact they are bringing a new front wing and a couple other pieces so they are keeping the rear wing and setup relatively similar to data they gathered at Spa or previous races to check correlation for the new one. Will likely change as FP sessions progress

Ugh hopefully they brought spares or haven't ran the new one yet. Would not be good if the new fw is already broken.

If Albon's problem is snapping, a front wing mod may balance the grip better for him. Hope it fixes his confidence. Max seems able to drive what ever turns up
