This is sad to see for Merc. As a merc fan, my favs for this year is redbull.
Bah. Every pre-season test is a lot like this. People thinking/hoping that one team or another passed mercedes.
Then, after a few races in, when they demolished everyone, people switch to talking about that the season is in the bag for them...
No, this year, it is different. You guys dont see it?! It is beyond only the car. Lewis is not happy about his deal, the team and the car.
You talked to him?

Where do you guys get half this stuff?

It's obviously the car! 😘😘
Lews Hamilton:
“So the rear doesn’t feel particularly great with this new regulation change, but we’re trying to find the sweet spot.”

A sketchy Mercedes is promising news for everyone else.
It's only sketchy until they get P1 on a sketchy qualifying run, then run off into the sketchy distance culminating with a sketchy turning down of the car so they can cruise sketchily to a sketchy victory.

Here is the timing data from today's test as requested.
I reformatted the timestamps slightly so that the whole thing is a bit more readable.

this is great. thank you very much. maybe combine all tables into a single spreadsheet?
You mean, one document with multiple sheets?
Mate this is stunning work. Can't thank you enough for that. Keep it up, hoping to get the data from the 3rd day.

Aside from the low top speed, he got 18% of ERS left when he crossed the finish line, so obviously not even close to full engine power. In Q3 it was usually 1-3%.
Just out of curiosity, where did you see that he had 18% left?

The Mercedes is fast in all the corners and turns, very ominous given they were behind on setup work after early gearbox issues.

Interesting visual. Haas will have a car to watch and not just because it's got the Russian flag on the wing. I know that Sam Collins has discussed them a lot when it comes to technical changes and while it's just two days of pre-season training in Bahrain, I'm intrigued to see if any improvement happens on the track. Overall, it's nice to see a mix of cars compete at all different parts of the circuit and hopefully, we see that during the season.

Fastest sub-sectors , which compounds have been used and how much fuel?
I only know Mercedes used the C5, and the others? RBR only drove longruns, so they are not on this list.

1.30.486s for Leclerc C3 during day time, not bad.

From what we've seen so far, it's solid... but the commentators are making a lot of hype over very little in my view; Should anybody be going for a proper qualifying simulation, I'd be expecting times well into high 1:2x.xxx... not too dissimilar to the times they were doing in Bahrain last year, despite having a reduction in downforce.

Doubt we'll see anybody go there yet, but a 1:30.4 from Ferrari isn't what I call groundbreaking; Getting into Q2 last year was a 1:29.4.

(... and yes, I know they mightn't be running engine modes high and not knowing fuel loads etc, I get it; Just putting it into perspective).

I don't rate Chandhok that highly but at trackside this morning he says that the Mercedes "looks like the Mercedes we expect". He reckoned that Bottas was able to carry speed in to the braking zone with the rear now able to live with the front end. Sounds like Mercedes are/have got on top of the rear stability issue.

Top left of his dash is ERS percentage.

Love the logo on the halo =D>

That lap didn't look like a car being hustled at all. All very smooth.
Original idea must go to yelistener and his channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA7dY5 ... vUe2KTsxxg.
I just shamelessly copied it  ,but we cool, no worries.
