Scuderia Ferrari SF70H

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Also worth noting, that they had made this change to diffuser only on right side. left is still old style one: probably testing prototype for 2018 right there

Well, technically they COULD. But only for checking flow patterns and comparing them side to side. But in this case, they havent.

Genius of Adrian Newey. Achieving the same effects with less! No wonder Ferrari had to try it.

The new one looks like a copy of the RB13 diffuser.

I doubt Newey alone drew up the RB13 diffuser gurneys. RB are now using Ferrari type sidepod turning vanes. RB this weekend tested a front wing with inner flaps similar to Merc & Ferrari. The teams are still figuring out this formula, they're only one year in.

Hy there, anyone notice, or can explain this? Looks like a reverse front wing.

Start reading this thread around page 20, until you come up to a number of posts on this very subject :) We've unlocked the secret of Ferrari side pods n this forum in less than two weeks after the launch. Some experts took a full year, and still don't understand the big picture.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
