GP2 champion Pantano wants to graduate to F1

Yesterday, Giorgio Pantano won the GP2 championship at Monza. The former Jordan F1 driver was delighted with his championship victory on home soil and makes no secret of his ambition to return to Formula One

Pantano said: "I really wanted to get this title as it was my last chance to show what I am really capable of, and in this way find a way back into F1."

Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Timo Glock, who previously won the GP2 championship, all graduated to Formula One and this is also the plan of Pantano.

Unfortunately for the Italian (29), the teams are more interested in the youngsters of the GP2 series: Bruno Senna, Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi and Romain Grosjean.
