As the season is almost coming to an end, the rumours about possible driver swaps increase every day. Now Nick Heidfeld is the one in the centre of the rumours. According to reports, Honda is interested in the services of the German who is currently racing for BMW Sauber.

After earlier showing interest in double World Champion Fernando Alonso, Honda has set its sights on Nick Heidfeld. Nick Fry said in an interview with 'spox.com' that his team is definitely interested in the German.

Rumours about the future of Nick Heidfeld with the BMW Sauber F1 Team have been ongoing for a while now and the fact that Honda is interested in 'Quick Nick' could open the door for Alonso to BMW. Although the Spaniard might opt to stay at Renault with which he won the Singapore GP this weekend.

It appears that Honda and Heidfeld have already been talking about a possible contract. Nick Fry said: "I've already spoken with Nick, and more than just saying 'hello'"

It is believed that, if he would make the move to Honda, Heidfeld would team up with Jenson Button while Rubens Barrichello would be left without a seat in 2009.
