Monteiro in talks to become GP2 team owner

Former Jordan and Midland F1 driver, Tiago Monteiro, who is currently racing in the World Touring Car Championship with Seat, has admitted that he's in talks to become the owner of a GP2 team in 2009, but insists it's not a done-deal.

Tiago Monteiro said: "To cross over to the other side of pitwall and head the undertaking of a project such as this is very stimulating for a driver. It means that I will need to find partners as well as sporting and commercial solutions that will guarantee that the company can be competitive. But even if the negotiations are well advanced, it is important that everyone understands that nothing is finalised."

Monteiro is linked with the struggling Spanish outfit BCN Competicion.
