Pay cuts for Renault drivers amidst economic hardships

Even the Formula One drivers are feeling the world wide credit crunch, with the current Renault F1 pairing of Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet Jr. agreeing to reduce their salaries. The French outfits boss talked the Latin duo into reducing their salaries, and was succesful at it by his statements.

"I said to them that a reduction would be appropriate. They understood the situation and we reached an agreement," Flavio Briatore shared with Milanese magazine 'Chi'.

The extravagant Italian added, "Also in Formula One we feel the (financial) crisis and are needing to reduce costs."
