Robert Kubica will use the Kinetic Energy Recovery System for the first time this season at the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. The BMW Sauber F1 Team driver previously not used KERS as the extra weight means that, heavier, drivers can't run crucial set-up ballast, which has a negative effect on weight distribution.

Mario Theissen said: "We plan to run KERS on both cars here. It will be reviewed on Friday night, but the current plan is to run it on both cars."
