Spain’s Valencia circuit and the Mugello track in Italy both played host to Scuderia Ferrari on Wednesday as the former World Champions began their dual testing schedule for this week. Massa tested in Valencia and Gene was in action in Tuscany.

Skies in Valencia greeted Felipe Massa as he began the first of three days of testing focussing on Bridgestone tyre development. The Brazilian, in a V10 F2005, covered a total of 95 laps, the quickest in 1m 13.165s.

Meanwhile, in Tuscany, Marc Gene was in action at the wheel of an interim F2004 M fitted with Ferrari’s new V8 engine. On a wet track, the Spanish test driver completed a total of 39 laps, five of them on the short version of the circuit, with a best time of 1m 32.672s.

Both drivers continue testing at the same circuits on today.
