Scuderia Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has underlined Ferrari's quest to get back in front of Mercedes, saying that the team expects to make a major step forward at the Spanish Grand Prix thanks to a large batch of car updates.

The Italian is certain that Ferrari hard work will continue to pay off, having already seen a major step forward compared to last year's performance.

"At Ferrari, we believe in working together towards a single goal, with many enthousiastic people. We are highly motivated for Barcelona, marking the first race of the season in Europe".

While conceding Ferrari is still not the fastest, a big push in development should get the team where they aim to be.

“We have set a very aggressive development plan. The car that we will run on Friday at Barcelona will be 70% different to the one that we raced in the first four races of the season.

"It will be almost a SF15-T bis, equal only in the nose. Waiting for the verdict of the chrono, we are confident it will be a significant improvement. We are of course not sure if it will be enough to beat Mercedes, as they will not have been sitting on their laurels either. Still, we want to make life as difficult as possible for them".

Further updates are expected for the power unit at Canada as the team aims to use further development tokens to find more power.
