Verstappen to buy a Ferrari - report

Red Bull’s eight-time F1 race winning driver, Max Verstappen is believed to have ordered a Ferrari Monza SP2 that is equipped by a 6.5 litre V12 engine.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetto dello Sport, the Dutch driver has purchased a limited edition Ferrari, the Ferrari Monza SP2 that is worth around EUR 1.6 million. The publication has also claimed that Verstappen has to wait for his order before the car is ready to be delivered as it is not ready yet.

The Ferrari Monza SP2 is a limited edition car of the fabled Italian manufacturer, also owned by TV chef Gordon Ramsay and footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The limited production sports car was introduced at the 2018 Paris Motor Show for the 2019 model year. The Maranello-based manufacturer said earlier that fewer than 500 are expected to be produced.

The Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 were the first model of the Icona series that is aimed at creating special cars inspired by classic Ferrari models. All models of the Icona programme will be produced in limited number.

Both the SP1 and SP2 are powered by a 6,496cc engine that is able to produce 799hp and can reach a top speed of over 300 kilometres per hour.
