Alpine's Executive Advisor Briatore is "happy with how both drivers"

Ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Alpine's Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore stressed that he is delighted with the performance of his two drivers.
Pierre Gasly finished in eighth position last time out at Barcelona. The Frenchman pitted early, and fell outside the top ten. However, he capitalized on the late safety car intervention, pitting for a fresh set of tyres.
That left him on the right compound for the restart, but he did lose out to Isack Hadjar late on. In the end, Gasly finished eighth, scoring four points for Alpine.
As for his team-mate Franco Colapinto, he managed to climb a couple of places but ultimately couldn’t play much of a part at Barcelona, though he did gain plenty more experience.
Ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Alpine's Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore stressed that he is delighted with the performance of his two drivers.
“We go to Montréal motivated to build on the points-scoring finish in Barcelona. Yes, the team gained four points, but we have also lost ground in the Championship, and this is something that gives us extra determination to rectify in the coming races.
"Both Pierre and Franco are working hard with the engineers to push the team forward. They have my full support, and it is down to us and our responsibility as a team to give them a better car and the tools to fight with.
"Although Franco is still adapting, I am happy with how both drivers and the team are applying themselves to get out of a tough situation. However, I am frustrated with the inconsistent performance level of the car, which we need to resolve quickly.”
