Zhou and Leclerc complete Pirelli tyre test with Ferrari at Fiorano

Just days after last Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, Ferrari are back in action as the Scuderia is completing a two-day test outing with Formula One's sole tyre supplier Pirelli at its home track in Fiorano.

Ferrari had tough weekend last time out in Canada. The Maranello-based outfit had been expected to excel on the Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve as it features high kerbs and long straights.

The Italian team showed a relatively strong one-lap performance in qualifying, but Charles Leclerc made a mistake on his final push lap. As a result of it, he started only from P8 on the grid, and while his tyre management was excellent, he only managed to finish fifth at Montreal.

His team-mate Lewis Hamilton lined up fifth on the grid, but a collision with a groundhog saw him lose performance. In the end, the seven-time world champion took the chequered flag in sixth place.

On the back of a difficult weekend in Canada, Ferrari are back in action this week. Having joined Ferrari as a test and reserve driver, Guanyu Zhou completed a one-day tyre test with the SF-25 on Thursday.

Ferrari opted the Chinese driver to drive the SF-25 during a Pirelli tyre test at Fiorano, focusing on compounds for the 2026 season.

Zhou completed a total of 159 laps. His best lap time was a 59.820s on slick tyres while he stopped the clocks at 1m07.400s on Pirelli's intermediate tyres. The wet-weather development session focused on both full wets and intermediates.

Ferrari is continuing its tyre testing today, with Charles Leclerc driving the SF-25 on the Fiorano circuit.
