In Istanbul, Sebastian Vettel celebrated a successful debut as the new test- and reservedriver of the BMW Sauber F1 Team. The 19-year-old will recieve the next chance to prove his skills at the Italian GP in two weeks time.

25 laps without a single mistake during the first free practice session for the Turkish Grand Prix and later even the fastest training time on the "Istanbul Speed Park". Sebastian Vettel has been able to make a name for himself in his first ever appearance in Formula One racing. Among others, praise also came from Mario Theissen: "We are very happy with Sebastian's performance," the BMW Motorsport Director said. "Therefore he will also be our Friday test driver in Monza. However, we will wait until after Monza before we make a decision regarding the last three season races."

Prior to the Italian Grand Prix, the talented young driver is facing an extensive programme. The next test drives with the BMW Sauber F1 Team are already scheduled for Tuesday. "Next week, I will be testing in Monza on Tuesday and Thursday," Vettel confirms.

"Then I will fly directly to Zandvoort, where the Formula 3 continues on Friday. Then, another Formula 3 testing programme in Le Mans is scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. From there I will be flying back to Monza to attend the GP weekend," says Sebastian, who will be participating in two different race series within the next two weeks, the Formula One, as well as the Formula 3 Euro series.
