The Scuderia Ferrari has confirmed that the V8 engine of Kimi Raikkonen does not need to be changed. After the opening race at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, the team and Kimi expressed their concerns as they discovered a water leak.

Jean Todt declared: "We made more checks than if it didn't happen, and he simulated the problem during free testing here last week, and after all that we are satisfied that nothing demonstrated that we should change our programme from Australia."
