Record crowd for Silverstone on Friday

The organiser and promotor of the British GP, Silverstone Circuits Limited, announced a record crowd on the first day of the race weekend. 42.000 fans visited the event on the first day, which is four thousand more than on the Friday in 2006.

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited: "Today's attendance of 42,000 is a record for a Friday of the British Grand Prix. We have the best fans in the world and the fact that they've all come out in the current weather conditions is a true testament to their commitment and passion for the sport."
