Montoya should bump Schumi off

It's been quite for a while around Eddie Irvine, but yet again he is back with his own clear opinion. After the race incidents between Schumacher and Montoya in Imola, the Irishmen thought it would be better for Montoya to just push Schumacher off.

BMW Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya is told by Irvine it would be better to just push the german ace like he does to him, instead of just talking about it after the race.

Irvine, who has been a teammate of Schumacher at Ferrari, says it is likely to be the only way to change his driving style. Eddie also writes in his regular column in the Sun that the six time champion seems to have a go with the regulations, and is permitted to do so by the FIA.

“For the only way sinner Schumacher is ever going to be taught a proper lesson is for a rival to ram him off the circuit,” Eddie said. “Schumacher’s weaving tactics at the start of the San Marino Grand Prix were totally out of order and Montoya had every right to go on the attack. Schuey always appears to get away with offences which lesser drivers would be punished for.”

“It’s been going on for years and until someone sorts him out the German ace won’t be changing his driving style,” he continued. “The way Schumacher defends his position is truly outrageous at times. The rules say you are only allowed one blocking move but he’s all over the place and relies on the guy behind lifting off to avoid an accident.”

“You have to fight fire with fire and if Montoya finds himself in a similar situation in tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix there’s only one recommendation — have Schumacher off.”

He agrees with Juan Pablo that it were not really the problems after the third corner, but really before, since he blocked Montoya by changing racing line up to three times.

“It was Schumacher’s blocking moves moments BEFORE that that were unacceptable.”
