We have far from reached our limit - Heidfeld

For Nick Heidfeld, the BMW Sauber F1 Team's good results so far are the result of the constant work to develop the car during the winter. However, the German feels that the car's performance can, and must, still be improved to achieve the season's objective.

"After some initial problems, we have made great progress during the winter tests", says Nick Heidfeld. "Most of the new parts we have added to the car have worked, and have allowed us to significantly improve the car's performance. For this reason, I am optimistic that we are not yet at our limit. There is still more potential for improvement."

The engineers in Munich and Hinwil are working around the clock to fully tap the potential of the BMW Sauber F1.08. Their meticulous work has so far been rewarded with two second places in Melbourne and Kualar Lumpur. However, the seasons' goal of winning a race for the first time has yet to be achieved. Nick believes the BMW Sauber F1 Team is on the right track: "We have come closer to achieving this goal at the races in Australia and Malaysia", says the 30-year-old. "You can see that we have a good basis for success. However, there was one team and one car that was faster than us in both races. With this in mind, we must keep on improving and closing the gap."
