Massa leads FP1 at France

During an overcast buy dry free practice session, Felipe Massa set the fastest time of 1:15.306 , clearly ahead of the rest of the field. His teammate and both McLarens were very close to each other, running within a gap of 0.07 seconds.

While the first half hour didn't bring much action, it was Kovalainen who set the first quick lap, going around in 1:16.055. Moments later it was improved by his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

When Felipe Massa came out, his first really fast time was immediately 0.6 seconds faster than the McLarens, while at the closing stages he could further improve to 1:15.306.

Behind the top four are Robert Kubica and Fernando Alonso who are also closely together in terms of performance around 'Circuit de Nevers'.
