McLaren deny Rosberg rumours once again

After German press published further speculation that Nico Rosberg was a probable driver to replace Heikki Kovalainen for the 2009 season, McLaren quickly dismissed the false information, 'autosport' reports.

Rumours continued earlier this week when Michael Schumacher's manager, Willi Weber, stated that Williams would not be able to fulfill a clause in their contract and that Kovalainen would return to Renault, leaving the open race seat for Rosberg at the Woking based outfit.

Mclaren F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh had this to say: "We can confirm that we have not had any contact with Nico Rosberg, or with his management, about him driving for us in 2009."

Weber's statement might simply be a further hint for the Williams team to progress or that they might lose their star driver. Williams currently lie sixth in the championship with 16 points, while Nico at an even lower position, 11th with only eight points.
