Which is absolutely correct looking at the data. RB had more deployment to turn 2 in return, which gave them a nett gain over those 2 straights.liuzka wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 09:08Peter Windsor (newest video on his YT channel) were talking that all other teams were just running full deployment 320-330 km/h to T1 but both RB PU teams were harvesting from 320>300. He were speculating that maybe ICE is good but Electric side is really bad.
In overall this would make sense. Hopefully it software limited so team can recover.
Why are so many people, every GP weekend, rooting for a PL start? Is doesn't make any sense and doesn't give any gain.venkyhere wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 08:29If it were upto me, I will pull the car out of parc ferme, put the old DRS wing back on (fly the thing in from Milton Keynes) and start from pitlane. Finishing P7 should be the objective of the race. Better to do it that way, rather than starting P4 with an off balance, undrivable, can-crash-in-corners-under-braking and finishing with DNF or P9-P10 anyway.
Thanks for clarifying!marcel171281 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 09:16Which is absolutely correct looking at the data. They lost a couple of tenths in turn 1, but that is unrelated to deployment.
This is just not true. He was very much leading all of it. Ha made all the decisions, set the concept of the car, and overlooked all departments of car design with a holistic view. He also still designed parts.
And Marko and Mateschitz. Even if he was the sole person behind signing him, it wouldn't give him credit for the car designs and the technical department Newey built up.
The key figures started escape when Horner started his failed political takeover. He blew apart the team he helped build.yener wrote: ↑25 Jul 2026, 21:32Max telling Dutch reporters that he is way beyond “desperate” for a long time now.
Thanks to his father he got a little bit what he deserved. Horner was holding everything together, at least he was trying to. All key figures are gone so I don’t see any reason expect fighting for wins let alone fighting for the wdc. It’s just an “elite” racingbulls midfield team.
Theoretically, you are right. But there are two factors that you are not accounting for, in this 'wonderful formula' 2026 :marcel171281 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026, 09:23Why are so many people, every GP weekend, rooting for a PL start? A pit lane start means you are a full pit window behind after 2 laps due to field spread. And on a hard-to-overtake track like the Hongaroring after 10 laps you're so far behind that even a good timed safety car won't help anymore.
Even with a bad setup car, or some sort of problem that costs some tenths a lap, starting at P4 will always be quicker over a total GP distance.
You don't give up 40 seconds, to gain 2 or 3 tenth a lap on a 77 lap race (without calculating being stuck).
