A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
I don't get it either tbh. I mean they made a massive tunnel in the V2 tunnel which they tested on Friday - and Caterham seems to still have it.
To my memory, Gascoyne is one of the better "copycat" tech directors out there, but not exactly creative in his own way - but what is it that he's doing with the tunnel that arguably the best aero mind in the business cannot do?

Caterham couldn't get it to work either.
Motorsport Graduate in search of team experience ;)
Well Red Bull raced it even though they couldn't get it to work. Just means it was better than their alternative configuration of the day, not that it was perfect.

He's still a full time employee, and no intentions to leave

@crucial: this should be lotus e20. Notice that rad position and the different crash pods. lotus' pods are filled in white (rohacell?) whereas rbr's pods are hollow

Yes. Look at the blurred shirt in the back. I can make out the logos of Total and TW Steel, i.e. It's Lotus.

"Mi chiedete quale è la differenza tra la F1 eroica e quella attuale. Beh, è come se prima si camminasse in equilibrio su un filo sospeso a strapiombo sul Grand Canyon. Ora quel filo è ben teso in camera da letto, a un palmo dal materasso: l'abilità richiesta per camminarci sopra è la stessa, ma la sfida è cambiata per sempre".

@shelly damn photographers and their "descriptions" My apologies
What's that jig on the back of the car, suspension jig maybe? Havn't seen anything like that before. I'm pretty confident its not part of the rear crash structure and beam wing.
