If you drive 5-6 seconds above the potential of the tyre, then of course it is going to last. Unfortunaly the reality is you'll loose more time with the necessary pacing, then driving around with a harder tyre you can push longer and harder to its potential. If Hamilton had to change tyres after 11 laps on the soft tyres, then what are you expecting from the outcome of 12 laps supersofts?GPR-A wrote:Guys here, from denying that the SuperSofts wouldn't have lasted for few laps to now arguing it differently, after looking at the Palmer's numbers, I like the change in your thinking.![]()

Both are very quick, reckless and arrogant, but i disagree that they are "very good" drivers.Sonador wrote:Why call Kvyat and Verstappen idiots?sosic2121 wrote:Well, russia was kyiat's home race.Sonador wrote:
Wow he is angry, never seen him that way.
I can translate it but i think you wil miss what he is talking about.
Basicly he feels that in turn 1 he could make the corner cleanly, but that the Ferrari's just turned in on him.
And on basis of that, he was very agressive in defending.
His floor was also heavily damaged.
I can somewhat understand the anger, because it was his home race.
I wasn't happy then because i had a feeling RB replaced idiot with a bigger one...
A bit uncalled for, both are very good.
Kvyat needs to find motivation and consintentcy, Verstappen needs more experience an calm a bit down.
I agree to some extend, Sainz has a very good and honest and humble personality.sosic2121 wrote:Both are very quick, reckless and arrogant, but i disagree that they are "very good" drivers.Sonador wrote:Why call Kvyat and Verstappen idiots?sosic2121 wrote: Well, russia was kyiat's home race.

I started writing a very long post about them, but it's pointless. IMO Sainz is a better driver then both of them, and Ricciardo is in another universe.
They are lacking respect, not only for other drivers, but for their teams and teammates. They have non of the qualities greatest drivers had.

Regulation doesnot allow BLOCKING!Edax wrote: The only problem is that the regulations allow blocking so it his right to do it. Wether it is smart to do so: Ithink at some point someone is going to run into the back of him.
He also said literally "they destroyed my race at turn 1, so I'm not going to let them just pass me afterwards [later in the race when Vettel and Raikkonen tried to pass him]. I'd rather drive them off the track."Edax wrote:Fast translation:
On first corner:
- Didn't understand what the ferraris where doing there. They just turned into me.
- I Had good grip, no wheel locking, could have made the corner OK.
- result was wing damage, severe floor damage. High tire deg and diffult in slow corners.
on ferrari radio messages:
- That is good, they should curse at me.
- They messed up my race I'm not just going to let them pass.
- I rather drive them of the track.
- But no pentalty, I was within the regulations.
Personally. I don't mind a bit of controversy around the track. That was partly which made f1 so much fun in the Senna Prost years. Actually this reminds me of some of the Senna interviews.
But it should not result in unsafe situations on track.
For me the blocking move of VES on RAI was over that limit. The only problem is that the regulations allow blocking so it his right to do it. Wether it is smart to do so: Ithink at some point someone is going to run into the back of him.

It allows defending your position
There is a difference between blocking someone and defending your position

Indycar and previously champcar had specific rules to prevent blocking. F1 has not. It does not specify when you can make the defensive move.
I am not a big fan of rules, but I think F1 would be smart to copy these rules.
the specific term blocking is what i was trying to explain through the video above! Nothing to do with IndycarOffences include jumping the start of the race, causing an avoidable accident, unfairly blocking another driver, impeding another driver while being lapped, and speeding in the pit lane.
There was a time in the sport's history when other drivers would take a guy like Verstappen behind the paddock and beat the --- out of him for pulling stunts like that.turbof1 wrote:However, he was afterwards way too dangerous, and given his comments he was dangerous on purpose...
I think Mansell would have loved to show Verstappen why he has black belt in karatebhall II wrote:There was a time in the sport's history when other drivers would take a guy like Verstappen behind the paddock and beat the --- out of him for pulling stunts like that.turbof1 wrote:However, he was afterwards way too dangerous, and given his comments he was dangerous on purpose...
Sometimes a corporal attitude adjustment is the best medicine.
