That's true quali-pace wise. Race-pace of the Ferrari is quicker than the Merc, Im sure. Up there with McLaren if anything. Wait till tomorrow, they did some very decent stints yesterday.tpe wrote:Why do you think that Ferrari is improved? Actually, we don't know the final difference from RB. Remember, that RB decided NOT to run with the second set of option tyres. So, we really don't know if the difference is larger or smaller...
The only fact is that Ferrari, effectively, is the 4th faster team: RB/McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari. That is the pecking order at the moment.
We might not know the difference between the bulls but we do know the difference between ferrari and mclaren. In china the difference between Button(1:34.421s) and Alonso (1:35.119s) was 0.698s but in Turkey the difference between Hamilton (1:25.595s) and Alonso (1:25.851s) was just 0.256s.tpe wrote:Why do you think that Ferrari is improved? tpe wrote:I will for a couple of races to judge them. Anyway, with this year's tyres, the only way to know the true pecking order is only if all top teams start with the same tyres. Then, compare their lap times until the first pitstop. That's the only way to know... The races are actually very much complicated, so you don't really know which is the fastest car (except of Vettel's one). On the other hand you know which team made the correct strategy calls on a specific race.
