thats what they trained at Merc, how they will play it and if Ferrari will do the same ....
interesting Quali tommorow, it will all be who has the balls to go out as last driver.

and you know what will be funny, if they all delay themselves so much and Albon takes Pole

Honestly, with as much utter bs as he spews, how is Villeneuve still allowed into any paddock......

A bit rich coming from the driver who crashed heavily at Radillon "just seeing if it would go flat", back in the days when the complex was not flat.

So what's the status of Merc engines? Looks like they're running them in higher modes but dunno. Something was mentioned about this during the broadcast but I didn't catch it clearly.

I'd be surprised if they were running the new engines in friday practice (?)

that would be very unusual, yes. Haven't read anything about it, but I doubt they did.

So Mercedes have significant race pace edge then. It helps if you can get ahead in the first lap, of course, but if not you need a decent pit stop strategy to do an overcut.

That's why I was saying it was utter bs. I'm betting not many people remember that though.

They're all-clear to run in the highest modes this weekend (unlike last weekend). Brixworth was able to determine that the failures in the other engines weren't a result of running higher power.

That said, the factory Mercs have yet to fully turn up the wick on the Spec 3 PUs, so more to come from them power-wise.

They're in pretty good shape with race pace, especially considering their long runs were a bit compromised by weather and traffic (per Shovlin). Shovlin went on to say that both drivers were happy with the balance, so they'll continue to fine-tune it.
