Romain Grosjean clarifies nationality

After being hailed as the next Swiss Formula One driver, Renault's Romain Grosjean has clarified his nationality, saying he prefers to be categorized as French rather than Swiss even though he was born in Switzerland. Grosjean has a French mother and a Swiss father.

"In motor sport, my nationality is clearly French, because all of the support in my career was coming from France, never from Switzerland," Grosjean said to Swiss newspaper 'Le Matin'.

In continuance with the French theme, he added, "Renault has supported me since 2006 and it was only with their help that I could afford to continue racing."
