Teams start final pre-season test session at Barcelona

Today, the final pre-season test session for the Formula One teams got underway at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. This is a crucial test as the 2010 championship kicks-off on 14 March with the Grand Prix of Bahrain.

Early on in the session, Alonso was sidelined after his Ferrari F10 stopped on track after only 11 laps. He hasn't completed any more laps since.
Lucas Di Grassi meanwhile spun the Virgin car and ended up backwards into the barriers. There is serious damage to the car's rear. The team's technical director, Nick Wirth, will surely not be pleased as the team is already running behind schedule in reliability testing ahead of the new season.
