Monza saga over?

After the Belgian Grand Prix has been axed from the 2006 Formula One calendar, another historic venue was in trouble: Monza. A Milan court recently ruled that Monza had to reduce the sound of wailing engines or cancel motor sport events.

This weekend, tough, the Italian newspaper, 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', reported that Monza's Mayor Michele Faglia and the group of local residents may have reached a mutual settlement after a meeting. Faglia told the 'Gazzetta' that the agreement would involve the installation of barriers to reduce noise from the Monza track.
