Mercedes and Alpine confirm launch date of 2024 F1 car

Mercedes have become the latest team to reveal the launch date of their 2024 F1 car with the Anglo-German squad set to unveil their new car during a digital launch event at Silverstone on 14 February.

Following Ferrari, Sauber, Aston Martin and Williams, Mercedes have also joined the group of teams that have already revealed their launch dates. The Brackley-based team will show off their new car in a digital event at Silverstone on February 14.

Mercedes' 2024 F1 car will be referred to as W15 which should help the eight-time constructors' champion team to regain their form. The Anglo-German squad finished second in the Constructors' Championship, 451 points off Red Bull. Over the past two years, Mercedes have only recorded a single race victory courtesy of George Russell

The team will compete with an unchanged driver line-up with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell set to race for Mercedes for the third consecutive year.

Elsewhere, Alpine have also confirmed their plans regarding their new car. Formula One's Anglo-French outfit are set to unveil their F1 challenger on February 7 during an event that they have described as a ‘motorsports season launch’ for their F1 and World Endurance Championship.
