McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have set the tone so far during the opening twelve races of the 2025 F1 season. F1Technical's senior writer Balazs Szabo delivers some facts ahead of this weekend's Spa round.

Four - Over the opening twelve race weekends, four different drivers have claimed pole position. The most successful drivers in terms of one-lap pace have been championship leader Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, who have set the quickest qualifying time on four occasions apiece.

McLaren's Lando Norris claimed pole position in three qualifying sessions, whilst Mercedes driver George Russell managed to set the benchmark in qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix.

All but two - Four-time champion Max Verstappen has taken two victories so far this season, having taken the chequered flag first in Imola and Suzuka, whilst Mercedes racer George Russell secured his fourth career victory in Montreal.

All the other races have been won by the McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The Australian won on five occasions, while his team-mate Lando Norris secured victory in four rounds.

Fastest lap - Lando Norris has set the fastest lap in five races so far while championship leader Oscar Piastri managed this feat on four occasions. Reigning champion Max Verstappen and the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli have so far set the quickest race lap in a single race apiece.

No podium - Despite his sensational victory in the Shanghai F1 Sprint, Lewis Hamilton is still chasing his first podium finish with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion finished in the points in all races with the exception of the Chinese Grand Prix. His best result has been three fourth-placed finishes which he secured in Imola, Spielberg and Silverstone.

Four - A total of four drivers have been disqualified so far this season. Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have been stripped of their results in China, and the same happened to Alpine's Pierre Gasly on the same venue.

Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg was disqualified in Bahrain, with all four disqualifications having happened as a result of technical infringements.

Seven - A total of seven drivers have finished on the rostrum so far in 2025. Alongside Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Nico Hulkenberg have managed to finish in the top three over the course of the opening twelve races.

Rookie drivers - Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has been the most successful rookie so far. 'Il Bolognese' has collected a total of 63 points so far - the same number as the starting number of his team-mate George Russell.

Isack Hadjar has delivered some stellar performances so far to secure 21 points, followed by Liam Lawson (12 points), Oliver Bearman (6 points) and Gabriel Bortoleto (4 points).

Jack Doohan failed to score any points in his six races that he completed for Alpine, but his successor Franco Colapinto is also yet to score points in 2025.

The Dutch force - Red Bull has collected a total of 172 points so far. Curiously, reigning champion Max Verstappen scored 165 points, with his team-mates Liam Laswon and Yuki Tsunoda having only collected seven points, leaving Red Bull a one-driver team in the opening half of the season.

Dominance - Championship leader McLaren has collected more points (460) than the total of what their nearest rivals Ferrari (222) and Mercedes (210) have scored together.

Fierce battle - There is a fierce battle further down in the teams' standings. Williams are the fifth-places outfit in the constructors' championship, having collected a total of 59 points, but the battle is insanely close, with Sauber having collected 41 points, followed by Racing Bulls (36 points) and Aston Martin (36 points), Haas (29 points) and Alpine (19 points).
