We are very close to McLaren - Klien
In Robert Kubica only one of the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers succeeded in scoring points 's in Barcelona. However, for Christian Klien, the official test and reserve driver for the team from Munich and Hinwil, this is no cause for concern.
"The balance of power has not really changed. Ferrari is still on top," says Klien. "I think we are very close to McLaren. Our lap times in Barcelona were actually almost identical. We would have finished ahead of McLaren if we had started the race ahead of them. I think the performance levels are quite similar."
The BMW Sauber F1 Team left Barcelona with five more world championship points, and is now preparing for the Turkish Grand Prix on 11th May. Christian is only expecting minor changes to the performances of the top three in the Constructors' Championship.
"I think the time differences between the teams are a bit bigger, as we only drive once a year there," says the Austrian. "It is a long circuit, and the teams do not know it as well as Barcelona. I don't think the balance of power will change not very much, as there are no test sessions between now and then."
