Heidfeld out for Brazil

Nick Heidfeld remains on the sidelines for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The German has missed the last two races because of a concussion from a testing crash at the circuit of Monza. During this two races Heidfeld was replaced by Antonio Pizzonia.

Heidfeld was training ahead of his planned return to the cockpit at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paolo in two weeks' time. The German drove a bicycle in Switzerland when he was struck by a motorcycle. 'Quick Nick' is suffering from a cracked schoulder bone, several dislocated fingers and grazes.

Speculations say that Heidfeld has signed a 2007-2008 deal to switch to BMW. The theory is that Williams plans to test potential candidates for a 2006 seat, in the event that Jenson Button stays at BAR and that Heidfeld won't drive again this season.
Nico Rosberg's name is now attached on Heidfeld's seat in Sao Paolo. Asked if any of the conspiracy theorists were right, Sam Michael said: "Absolutely not".
