Ferrari 150° Italia

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

New engine cover over the exhaust.
Every race ends when the chequered flag is out!

much trimmed down. Good thing it's silverstone, cause the car looks like it will overheat with these tight panels.
Looks good though.
For Sure!!

i thought the same thing too, but looking at the image above in ringo's post, it's definitely from today.

It could well be the engine cover use for transportation.

Yep, it's completely gone. Would there be much reduction in drag without this?
Also what would be the benefit over the new motorized DRS like Red Bull have over the old hydraulic system?
I would have thought that the motorized system is not as fast but maybe that helps with keeping the flow attached?

Wow! Ferrari found some DF, during the last stint Fred was pulling 7 tenths a lap just in the high speed sector 2, with tons of high speed stuff(copse maggots beckets etc.)

Mind you; it's not any old sector. It's the Becketts Esses where the Bulls should be the strongest

This is clearly a case of the competition coming back to Ferrari's level and not any improvement on the part of Ferrari.

to be fair maybe the Ferrari improved a bit, but certainly not the 8 tenths necessary to get close to Red Bull (in qualifying) on such high-aero tracks
