What is the purpose of the airfoil shape on the outboard edge of the exhaust? It's cambered which would give the impression it would create a sideforce towards the outside of the car...
It sucks in a bit of air towards the exhaust and lowers pressure infront of the tyre. It is probably there to send a high pressure stream down the side of the tyre to separate the hot gasses from the sidewall and as someone else said it will help with creating the vorticies which make that EBD solution so effective.volarchico wrote:What is the purpose of the airfoil shape on the outboard edge of the exhaust? Only thing I could come up with would be to create a vortex from the air that will be angled inward to avoid the rear tire, but you'd think that sort of airfoil wouldn't be necessary just to create a vortex.
