Takeo Fukui, the Honda Motor Company CEO, has apologised to Jenson Button after the Japanese manufacturer announced its withdrawal from F1 today. Button's options to remain on the 2009 grid are very limited as nearly all teams already confirmed their line-up for next year.

Takeo Fukui said during a press conference: "It's a real shame and I feel deeply sorry for Jenson Button. We had no choice in the current financial conditions."
