As a driver you never give up - Heidfeld

For the next round of the 2009 Formula One World Championship, the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, the BMW Sauber F1 Team will have another aero upgrade available for its F1.09 single seaters. Nick hopes for a performance leap and looks forward to the race in Germany.

"As a driver you never give up but always give your very best," says Nick Heidfeld. "And the team is also working hard on improving our situation. For the forthcoming races we expect bigger upgrades than what we had in England. The first will be for the race at the Nürburgring, while later in the season there will be another one or two enhancement packages."

The World Championship round in the Eifel region is one of the BMW Sauber F1 Team's home races. According to Nick, the atmosphere and the support of the crowds doesn't have a direct impact on performance but does represent an additional motivation factor. "It doesn't result in faster lap times," admits Nick, "But I enjoy driving even more than usual as seeing all the German supporters is great. But when I'm sitting behind the wheel I fully focus on my job."
